Stormwater Design WorkshopMany flood control basins predate modern design guidance and contribute to streambank erosion and poor water quality. This workshop shares findings from a recent NE Ohio-based study evaluating retrofits to legacy stormwater basin outlets to mitigate streambank erosion. Participants will learn how to identify candidate basins for retrofit, how hydrologic and hydraulic models are used to design outlet retrofits, and what challenges and lessons were encountered when applying these approaches at the watershed scale. Real-world case studies from northeast Ohio will be used to illustrate practical design decisions and tradeoffs.*
* There will be an optional modeling exercise in the class and, if attendees wish, they can bring a laptop equipped with HydroCAD (any license level).
