Alexander Kirchner
Before joining Summit SWCD, Alexander Kirchner graduated from Miami University in 2024 with a bachelor's in Environmental Earth Science and Sustainability. There, Alexander's studies were focused on geomorphology, paleoclimatology, and climate action planning. Alexander loves spending time outdoors participating in activities like hiking, backpacking, and camping while continuing to learn about nature.
Alexander's favorite Best Management Practice (BMP) Is the implementation of bioretention cells because they slow stormwater runoff reducing erosion and enabling recharge of groundwater aquifers. In addition, they act as natural filters for debris and pollutants from stormwater runoff, and provide habitats to plants and animals. |
