Join our team of citizen scientists monitoring the water quality of Summit County! After training, each Monitor is assigned a location in one of five areas in the county to sample once a month from April-October. We currently sample in the watersheds shown here on the map.
Our monitors use equipment provided by us to check for temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, chloride and total suspended solids. There is also the option to assess the macroinvertebrate community (bugs on the riverbed) at each site. All of this collected data is added to the Lake Erie Basin Assessment Framework report. You can also find the summary of what is happening at each site on the main page of the Watershed tab. |
